22CI's mission is to build and strengthen a civil resistance movement capable of stopping authoritarian consolidation while sustaining the long-term work of democratic renewal and reconstruction. We do this by fueling strategic action with clear analysis, developing the next generation of organizers and cultural workers, and catalyzing the coordination infrastructure needed to turn a pro-democracy majority into a movement.
Authoritarianism doesn't consolidate overnight and it doesn't get stopped overnight either. It gets stopped by movements: connected, strategic, joyful, and relentless. The 22nd Century Initiative exists to help build that movement.
